Kanchan Mullick directs “Ekdin Aladin” by Bratya Basu

We have always seen Kanchan Mullick in typically comic roles and he is definitely the maestro in that genre. Comedy is subtle and quite natural to him but he was perfectly exploited by Srijit Mukherjee in “Rajkahini” though in an absolutely different genre.

This time Kanchan Mullick is making his directorial debut in theatres playing “Ekdin Aladin” by Bratya Basu. He again comes up with a comedy play and this is high time when Kanchan Mullick realized that direction is genuinely not an easy task to do. He is playing the role of a father who is strained because of his daughter’s marriage. As a director he is entitled to take care of the entire set starting from stage direction to light management. But Kanchan Mullick is found to be enjoying this new journey.

It was Premangshu Roy who thought of staging it before Kanchan Mullick but after the industry scam Basu did not allow him to perform it, rather authorized Kanchan Mullick to put it on stage.
