Jeet ties up with CRY

Carrying on with his philanthropic self, heartthrob of the Bengali film industry, Jeetendra Madnani or Jeet as he is popularly known as, has joined hands with non-profit organisation Child Rights and You (CRY).

Although it has been kept under the wraps so far, sources told Jiyo Bangla that Jeet had agreed to be the brand ambassador of the organisation. It was found out that Jeet will be collaborating with CRY for all their upcoming projects.

The 40-year-old will be featured in several short films promoting child rights. Shooting for those films will begin as soon as his dates are available and the organisation also intends to put up an event with him soon. Officials of CRY visited his office on June 25 to finalise the deal and they were happy with how things had turned up so far. “We have had a very good reception and we hope that this association with the actor will go a long way in creating awareness in the society and inspired by him more people will be drawn towards charitable work for the underprivileged,” said a senior official of the organisation, preferring anonymity.

Sources also said that Jeet has not accepted any money for the association. “This is not the first time he has got into something like this. Unlike the popular perception filmstars do a lot of socially relevant work and Jeet in particular likes to keep it away from media glare. It is his love for society that he engages with such socially relevant activities,” said a source close to the actor.
