Is it going to be a vegetarian Valentine’s Day?

Valentine’s Day date is kind of a tradition for lovers and Bengal is no way lagging behind when it comes to following the lover’s tradition. This Valentine’s Day has a twist for all the Romeo-Juliets’ as this 14th February shall even witness Maha Shivratri which is an annually celebrated popular Hindu festival.

The most effected ones this season are going to be the restaurant owners as this day is a marked vegan day on the calendar.Valentine’s Day on the other hand is one of those days when dates are mandatory and the restaurants do count a lot on the lovers. So, what is going to happen this year? Well, along with the vegetarian restaurants who are all set for the day and is expecting a huge crowd the non-vegetarian restaurants are not lagging behind in preparations.

The Chinese restaurant like, “Chowman” have ordered their chefs to prepare varieties of vegetarian dishes along with the Mughal restaurant like “Oudh 1590” are preparing recipes like 'palak biryani' and 'veg galawti kebab' to give the customers a feel of the non-veg keeping it completely vegetarian. Since vegetarian items rule the day and people are very particular about the preparations too, the vegetarian restaurant are quite confident on attracting more crowd as there are people who prefer food without onion and garlic and only pure vegetarian restaurants can assure that. The pure vegetarian restaurants even provide with the option of adding onion and garlic to a particular preparation as per the customer’s choice. Hence, the vegetarian restaurants shall pull in more people as religion is quite a superstition to the bengalees and they shall not compromise with it.

Now, all we have to do is wait and see whether the day turns out to be a vegetarian one. The present generation is flexible and believes “বাবার মাথায় জল ঢালার পর মাছ মাংস খাওয়াই যায়!”Thus giving hope to the non-vegetarian restaurants too.
