IKB and its amazing events

Kolkata is busy decorating itself with books. Just before the 43rd International Kolkata Book Fair 2019 things are looking better than ever. The first press conference focused on the upcoming programs for the Bookfair. However, the second was about the other events that are to be held during the Fair.

The International Kolkata Book Fair-2019 will be held at the Central Park Mela Prangan. On 2nd February, the fair will be dedicated for the Lepchas and will be organized at the State Bank Auditorium. Eminent Rabindra Sangeet Singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya will also perform in the evening of 2nd February. Children’s Day celebration will be taking place in the fairground on 3rd February. On 10th February 2019, Bangladesh Day will be celebrated with the eminent artist who came here all the way from Bangladesh. Gate No 4 will have the replica of Arch of Santa Catalina and Gate No 5 will be the replica of National Museum of Modern Art Carlos Merida. There will also be a replica of Kolabhawan, Shanti Niketan to celebrate its 100 years. This year books by Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee will be available for the audience the books are of poetry, a novel and Urdu Shayari. The visitors will enjoy Guatemala’s Dessert Festival every day from 4 to 7 pm. Not to forget the concept of ‘Buy a book and get a library’ will infuse the audience can be the lucky winner of this year’s book fair. Indian books will be translated into Russian and vice-versa. The Dessert festival will be organized by students of Indo-Hispanic Language Academy with the support from Glace Patisserie. On 31st January 2019 at 4 pm the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the ceremony of the  43rd International Kolkata Book Fair.
