Fire Department to buy new hydraulic ladder

The Fire Department has decided to buy a new hydraulic ladder which will be able to get upto a height of 102 metres to fight the flames if required. The Fire Department currently has hydraulic ladders that can go upto 68 metres, but this new hydraulic ladder will give the fire fighters a new height. A ladder with a capacity of attaining a height of 68 metres will be able to reach the top of a 22-storey building, whereas a ladder which can reach 102 metres of height will be able to go to the top of a 34-storey building. Fire Department Minister Sujit Bose said, “We will buy a hydraulic ladder that can go up to a height of 102 metres. The ladders we have now can go up to 68 metres. The new ladder will help us fight flames in taller buildings like The 42”. The new ladder will help the fire department to fight flames in high-rises. The department will also make it mandatory for the owners of tall buildings to install powerful internal fire-fighting systems with smoke alarms and underground reservoirs.
