E-W Metro inauguration date yet to be decided

The Railway Board is yet to announce the date of the inauguration of the first phase of East-West Metro. The final date is yet to be finalized since the trial runs are still on. Chief Public Relations Officer Indrani Banerjee of Kolkata Metro Railway said,

The final date of the inauguration has not been decided yet. Let the trials be over then we will finalize the East-West Metro first phase inauguration date. 

The first round of trials for Phase-I of the East-West Metro took place from October 15 to October 17 and the second round of trials started on Wednesday, October 30 and continued till Thursday, October 31. Banerjee said, 

After conducting the trial runs, the officials will return to their respective offices and review the activities during the trial runs.

 After the trails reports are ready, the Kolkata Metro Railway will send it to the Railway Board who will then finalize the date for inauguration. The first phase of the East-West Metro corridor is five kilometers long and stretches from Salt Lake Sector V to Salt Lake Stadium. It includes six stations - Salt Lake Sector V station, Karunamoyee station, Central Park station, City Centre station, Bengal Chemical station, and Salt Lake Stadium station.
