The Chief Minister of West Bengal always promotes the cultural and traditional aspects of the state. The three-day Digha Folk Festival, which is a part of that initiative will start from 11th January. It is a cultural festival with artisans and craftsmen from several districts of West Bengal. It will take place at the premises of the Biswa Bangla Centre.
The special attraction of this festival:
Musical trio, Oriental Mood from Denmark will perform at the inaugural day.
Artisans from Chandipur and East Midnapore will be there showcasing their Patachitra and traditional Madur respectively.
Both the Patachitra of Chandipur and Madur of East Midnapur has received the Geographical Indication tag.
Craftsmen from different villages including Patashpur, Bhagwanpur, Moyna, and Ramnagar, famous for 'madur' weaving will present at this fair. They will also take part in workshops held during the fair.
