CM’s literary work to be taught in school

The multi-talented Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has not only proved her mettle as a leader but also as an efficient painter and poet. Her revolutionary Singur incident has already earned a place in the schools’ history syllabus in 2017. And now, a poem of Chief Minister will be included in the syllabus. Among the few poems written by the CM, a poem about the state’s Safe Drive, Save Life campaign will be included in the syllabus. This will in spreading awareness about road safety. She has also written a few songs and a song written on the Kanyashree project also features in the syllabus.

The poem will be a part of the school’s physical education curriculum. She has shown quite a positive attitude towards the move and said that she was not aware of it and if someone wants to teach it then she cannot stop them. Though she herself has never asked anyone to use her poems. Already she has published over 75 books and she proudly tells that she has been writing since 1995. Her books have been translated into different languages including Nepali, Santhali, Hindi, and English. Being a politician, she never let go of her creative side instead she embraced it and now is contributing to the welfare of the state’s education. Her poems come with a social message that will help in shaping the thought process of the children who are the future of our society.
