The new proposed flyover from Chingrighata to New Town will now have provisions for extra exit and entry ramps at Salt Lake Sector V. The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) is currently working on the alignment of the newly proposed ramps of the flyover keeping in mind the crowd dispersal at Sector V and Karunamoyee Metro stations. One of the KMDA officials said, “There are several vehicles that take Salt Lake Bypass from Chingrighata and enter Sector V. The ramps that are being planned will help all Sector V-bound vehicles from Chingrighata to take the flyover to reach the IT hub. Similarly, EM Bypass-bound vehicles from Sector V will be able to take the ramp and move all the way to Chingrighata. The ramps will also be helpful for those using the Sector V Metro station”. The proposed flyover will start from Captain Bheri on EM Bypass, take a right turn from Chinrighata and move straight towards Salt Lake Bypass and enter Sector V from Nicco Park. It will continue straight till New Town. The flyover will be placed parallel to the uplifted Metro tracks. Once the flyover route is fixed, a detailed project report will be prepared to get the final nod.
