Believe it or not.

Football is a wonderful sport, having its own tales of success and failures. However, this sport also has its share of some U-turn stories those seem unbelievable in the first instance, but has actually happened.

  1. MANAGER FOR 10 MINUTES?

Unemployment strikes hard. But being employed for 10 minutes and then being dispersed can be a paramount disappointment. This actually happened back in 2007, when Mike Bateson, the owner of Torquay club made Leory Rosenior a manager for just 10 minutes till the sale of his club was finalised. We find it difficult to imagine what Rosenior went through.

  1. NOT QUALIFYING BUT A WINNER?

The final showdown of the Euro Championships 1992, was supposed to be between Yugoslavia and Germany. However fate favoured Sweden, who were given a spot in the finals as Yugoslavia was engulfed in a war and a split. Sweden outplayed world champions Germany to lift up the trophy.

  1. ‘LUCKY’ SHIRT?

In the mid-60s, Pele was going down the ladder. Quite worried about the decline in his form, he came up with a genuine justification-he had given away his ‘lucky’ jersey to a fan. Quite quickly, he hired a detective to get back the ‘lucky’ jersey, and got back to his great form soon after he got the jersey back.

Climax? Turns out, the detective actually brought him back a jersey which he had used in his earlier match, and not the ‘lucky’ jersey he was supposed to bring.

People don’t lie when they say it’s all about the confidence.
