An arms racket was busted by the West Bengal Police on Monday, August 13th, at the south 24 Parganas district. Two people related to this racket were arrested from the Sonarpur area. Police raided a car on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, seizing 15 firearms including 10 pipe guns. A senior police officer of the Sonarpur Police station reported, "Acting on a tip-off, our personnel conducted a special checking of vehicles on the EM Bypass and detained a car with 15 guns and ammunition. Two persons traveling in the car have been arrested". However, the Police did not reveal the identities of the two individuals arrested during the raid since the investigation is currently in its initial stages and revealing the identities might hamper the case.
