Apu once again!

Satyajit Ray’s Apu Trilogy is regarded as one of the greatest Indian movies of all time. The trilogy based on Bibhutibhushan Bandhopadhyay’s novels namely, ‘Pather Panchali’, ‘Aparajito’, and ‘Apur Sansar’. The films have won many awards and pride for the country at different film festivals across the globe. Now, it is all set to make a comeback. Yes, you read that right! Apu is returning on the silver screen after 60-long-years but this time it won’t be Satyajit Ray to do honors but Subhrajit Mitra.

Subhrajit will be making a black and white period drama titled ‘Avijatrik’ ‘The Wanderlust of Apu’. It will start from where Aparajito ended; apparently based on its final part. Mitra himself is the script-writer and director of this film. Director Madhur Bhandarkar is also a part of this project, as a co-presenter.

The movie will be in black and white, shot in different parts of the country to hold on to the authenticity and essence of the original film. The film will go on the floors after a few months.
