Anti Terrorism Day Observed In Bengal

Anti Terrorism Day was observed at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) and Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Frontier Headquarters Siliguri (Ranidanga) on Tuesday.

At CLW, Ram Prakash, Principal chief electrical engineer read out the anti terrorism pledge, which was repeated by the officers and employees present there. Principal head of the departments, senior officers, staff council members and employees were present on the occasion. This day is observed at CLW every year to uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values.

The SSB observed it at the frontier campus today with pledge taking ceremony. During the programme, Shrikumar Bandopadhyay, inspector general, Frontier Siliguri, Thomas Chacko, deputy inspector general, all officers and officials of Frontier Headquarters Siliguri attended the pledge taking ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Bandopadhyay explained the need to combat the menace of terrorism. He said that terrorism has emerged as a major threat to the unity and integrity of nation, resulting in loss of lives, livelihood and destruction of properties. He also urged that being a force member, we should fight unitedly against terrorism for safety, security and betterment of nation as well as society.
