Akash and Sourav were like a riot on the sets of Phoring - Ritwik Chakraborty

It has emerged that with two films ready for release before Durga Puja, Ritwik Chakraborty is busy right now.

The ripples that he created with his stellar performance in Shobdo can be still remembered and the young man is currently juggling with two other films along with his responsibilities of a first-time-father. In fact, he has played a very interesting character in Indranil Roychowdhury's India Film Bazaar award winning film Phoring.

Ritwik disclosed that the character is shrouded in mystery. He described that his character is a cameo, but it is an essential part of the film's story. He played Sohini's cousin brother who arrives to help her get settled in her new job. However, Phoring has his doubts about his actual identity. With the progress of the story, whether or not he is Sohini's brother is exposed.

Particularly, the film deals with an adolescent young boy's obsession with his geography teacher. Director Indranil commented that films about children are always an adult's version of a child's life. In fact, there are handful of films which see children as they see themselves. In case a child is interrogated, he/she will tell that it is as stressful, complicated apart from difficult as theirs. Specifically, Phoring is a film which will help them understand adolescence better. Moreover, it tells the story as it should be, without any sugar-coating. In addition, it celebrates the agonizingly painful and simultaneously elegantly beautiful process of growing up.

In lines with his experience of shooting with Akash and Sourav-the two child artistes who played the characters of Phoring and his friend Lattu respectively, Ritwik couldn't help laughing. He disclosed that it was crazy shooting with them. Although, he did not have any scene with Akash, those two kids were like a riot on the sets. In particular Lattu (Sourav), would hang around sneaking up to everybody & gripping their cell phones and running away. Or else, he would come and ask him. Ritwik revealed that Sourav would come and ask what games are there in his phone. Certainly he knew that he was not looking for any game. He exclaimed that God knows what joy he found in going through all their phone stuffs.

Two of Ritwik's releases are lined up for this month— Phoring and Bakita Byaktigoto. He claimed that both the films have distinct point of views and close to his heart. In fact, it is not his only films that are keeping him busy these days. Ritwik, who just became a father for the first time, is following a hectic schedule trying to adapt himself into the role of a father for his son Upamanyu. He quipped that his pet name is Guran and he is adorable. He is spending all his time with him these days. When interrogated, how much of Guran's responsibilities he is handling, he frankly confessed that most of the duties he has left to his mother. He is just a helping hand, one can say. He is still learning.

At the end, we hope this festive season gets all the more festive for him with his 2 films and his son bringing him numerous occasions to celebrate.
