AI’s direct flights from Dubai to Kolkata

The Air India has recently launched its direct service from Dubai to Kolkata. The direct flight service started on Tuesday, July 16 after the inaugural flight took off from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport in Kolkata at 2:50 pm. The inaugural flight carried 137 passengers on board enroute Dubai. The direct flight service will be operated four days a week. Earlier there was no direct flight service between Dubai and Kolkata other than Emirates and passengers had to mostly depend on transit flights which usually costs more than a direct flight and at times becomes too hectic for a passenger. Air India had conducted a survey on this issue and thus decided to begin this direct flight service to Dubai. The one-way fare for these flights from Kolkata to Dubai is Rs 11,920 and a round trip (to and fro journey) would cost a passenger Rs 20,600. Air India is providing the passengers with a 162-seater Airbus A320 Neo which happens to be one of the most advanced passenger aircraft for its flight AI 917. Air India spokesperson Sameek Bhattacharya said, "Air India is offering the best of passenger services at very affordable fares, along with the state-of-the-art A320 Neo aircraft at an ideal time of departure. This is what makes the service so attractive".
