Age Is Just A Number For Her

She’s a53-year-old lady and she has created History. The former Model turned actress turned mountaineer and 1985 Miss India finalist Sangeeta Sindhi Bahl made history by becoming the oldest Indian woman to climb Everest. Bahl broke the record of her compatriot Premlata Agarwal who on May 20, 2011, and became the oldest Indian woman to scale the Everest at the age of 48. Sangeeta took part in a two-month long expedition that started on 28th March 2018.

She along with her photojournalist Purnima Shrestha reached the summit at 8:40 AM on Sunday, May 19. However, the news was confirmed by The chairman of Pioneer Adventure Pvt Ltd, Mr.Pasang Sherpa. Sangeeta who climbed the peak with a special mission, she carried with her a banner of ‘Tata Memorial Hospital’ to promote cancer awareness among women.

“I feel on top of the world after scaling the world’s highest peak”, she said. “There was no fear at all. Life is too short to keep thinking,” she added.
