A view from Shakespeare’s kitchen

William Shakespeare’s plays are full of quotes about  food and drinks ! He even used food and drinks as metaphors to create the drama more intriguing. On the occasion of Shakespeare's birth month, Oxford Bookstore Kolkata and Cha Bar organized an event which had Shakespeare’s influence. They celebrated Shakespeare Day and Shakespeare Feast on 17th April. The celebration took place amidst various activities including a specially curated workshop for school students on idioms; Shakes-word (crossword); Shakes-quiz; Write a Letter to the Bard and a Selfie Zone.

Cha Bar Kolkata launched The Shakespeare Feast a special menu which would be available till the 30th of April 2019. To make the younger generations aware of the same oxford Bookstore and idioms used by Shakespeare such event was held. It was followed by The Shakes-word, a crossword puzzle related to the various literary works by the Bard. Quizzes were based on the life of Shakespeare and his literary works. To make things more interesting dishes on the basis of Shakespeare’s characters who appeared in his play were introduced in the menu.  The menu had: 'Hamlet's Madness' (chocolate muffins) or Caliban's Quiche (Non-Veg quiche).
