A small token of tribute!

It is the 142nd birth anniversary of one of the most prominent Indian author. Any guesses who? Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay, who played an important role in the intellectual awakening of Bengal, a literary movement that, resulted in Bengal’s Renaissance. His novels reflected the current state of society during that time. He had certain forbearance towards women and their condition during that era which kept him ahead of his contemporaries. He used his appealing story-telling skills to depict the turbulent state of the society into bewildering tales. Many of his novels were made into movies and one of his most adapted novels is ‘Devdas’. His literary works played an important role in India’s freedom movement to such an extent that the British Government banned one of his novels. It is not possible to capture the prowess of such a prodigious literary personality in these few words, all we can say that it is our honor that we were blessed enough to have Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay.
