56 Acres To Be Allotted For 3rd Phase Of Silicon Valley

An interest for allotment of 27 plots covering an area of about 56 acres has been expressed by The Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco). The allotment is supposed to take place in the third phase of the Bengal Silicon Valley IT-hub project in New Town.

The cover area of the plots to be allotted range from 0.2 acres to 6.3 acres, with a single plot of 10 acres cover area, and it would be done on a 99-year lease-hold basis. A ‘special promotional price’ of Rs 4.7 crore has been fixed as a one-time lease premium, having validity for three years. Following this, the state will carry out a further review, and the annual lease rent would be around Rs 1000 per acre, exclusive of GST on the lease premium.

The proposal of the highest bidder would be placed before the IT&E department for eligibility judgment, before placing it in front of Hidco board for plot-wise selection. Various IT firms and research-and-development institutes had applied to get land in the first and second phases. Almost 107 acres are in the process to be allotted to several IT companies and research institutes out of the 200 acres allotted for Bengal Silicon Valley.
